The yard house could conceal approximately 150 children. It was split into two rooms, peerless for boys, one for girls. The children would have to sleep three to a bed, this time was often the only time they had off their feet. Children would work and eat standing. They werent allowed to sit down. If they got tired in the afternoons they would be beaten.
